I’ve done your job

My first job was serving at a sports bar and family restaurant. I got promoted to bartender, moved from restaurants to hotels, and spent years climbing the ladder in operations. I also burned out, which is what sent me back to school for a master’s in Mental Health Counseling.

So when you tell me about double shifts, a failed inspection, a sold-out weekend or a front desk team that’s running on fumes, you don’t have to explain it.

What the industry gets wrong

Hospitality often lacks empowerment, training, empathy and mental wellness awareness for the people delivering the service. Guests feel the result, however good the lobby looks.

Poor service is usually a symptom. I help you find the cause, whether that’s a leader who has never been taught to lead, a procedure that doesn’t work on a busy night or a team that has stopped speaking up.

How I help

Support for every level of the property

GMs and owners

Private executive coaching on culture, your leadership team and running the property without it running you.

Department heads and supervisors

Coaching and workshops for people who were promoted for being great at service and now have to lead the people providing it.

Front-line teams

Training that gives team members the skills and confidence to solve problems, serve guests and ask for what they need.

Burnout and mental wellness

Practical training that helps leaders support their staff’s wellbeing in a high-stress industry.

SOPs that work on a busy night

I create, analyze and improve standard operating procedures, because culture change often starts with a process.

Employee relations

Support with difficult staff situations, handled fairly and before they turn into bigger problems.

“Stephanie met the highest standards of professional and personal conduct in her time with us. She is highly intelligent, honest, hard-working and, in general, a great pleasure to work with. She created many of the administrative systems that make the department successful. She has also greatly contributed to building a happy and productive organizational culture.”

Questions

Hospitality coaching FAQ

Do you only work with hospitality leaders?

No. Hospitality is where I come from, and I also work with leaders across other industries. The people challenges travel well.

Can you fit around a hotel or restaurant schedule?

That’s a conversation for your coffee chat. I know that a Saturday night is a bad time for a coaching session, and we’ll plan around how your operation really runs.

Do you work with multi-property groups?

Yes. Let’s talk through your group’s structure and whether coaching, training or both makes sense. Virtual training makes multiple locations easier to reach.

Tell me what’s going on. We’ll start there.

A coffee chat is a free, 30-minute, no-pressure conversation online about what you’re dealing with and whether coaching is the right next step.
